You can buy expensive memorabilia from eBay. Or plaster your bedroom walls with an infinite number of posters. You can even grit your teeth and withstand the pain of getting a tattoo, or you can slap stickers all over the exterior and interior of your car.
But nothing says you’re a fan quite like vintage t-shirts do.
There are many ways in which you can proudly display your affiliations, inspirations, and affections. None of these, however, can be as effective as vintage t-shirts that are designed after the sports hero, comic book character, Hollywood icon, musician, politician, actor, rock band, TV show, movie, food, beer brand, consumer product, place, country, city, state, university that you have grown to love. After all, all you have to do is put it on: no need to spend so much time and money on the Web looking for memorabilia; no need to mess up your bedroom or car; no need to go through needles.
You don’t even have to be a fashion and style guru to have one or more of these tees in your closet. Surely, being a fan of something or another, you will have kept a shirt of the person, brand, or thing that you love and worn it many times over – softening, fading, peeling, cracking, and washing the cotton out in the process. Still, these vintage t-shirts will have survived your youth, and by mere fact of wearing it, you’re pawing through your fondest memories and telling everyone that you’re a fan.
Vintage t-shirts pay tribute to people’s idols – and a quick search on the Web will spawn results on shirts for pop culture icons like, say, Superman, Che Guevarra, John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe, Star Wars, Led Zeppelin, and Super Mario. There is also a number of state or novelty t-shirts that can speak volumes of the places we love: sunny Florida, rocky Colorado, windy Chicago, and enchanted New York. However, even if you are the fan who doesn’t necessarily submit to established tastes, there still would be vintage tees, novelty t-shirts, retro designs, and tribute-worthy clothing items out there – either in stores or on the Web – to help you say you’re a fan – much better than a tattoo can.
